5 Tips for Optimizing Videos

Video marketing is becoming more popular all the time. Besides 2013 being the Year of the Snake, I’ve heard people say 2013 is the Year of the Video! A main reason is because videos are now ranking in the search engines. This means you can get video directory traffic and search engine traffic. Plus videos are often much more interesting than writing but we all know some videos are more effective than others. Here are five important tips to get good results:

#1) Put keywords in the title

As this is often the only content your page will have, it’s very important to use keywords in the title.

#2) Text description of the video

This tells the search engines what the video content is about.

#3) Put the word “video” in the title

Putting “video” in your title will bring more traffic.

#4) Allow comments

This keeps the page relevant in the search engines because Google likes updating pages and it could also increase your sales.

Why? Often the people who take the time to comment are the same ones who are most likely to buy. Therefore, you can respond to the comments and answer questions.

#5) Include valuable content

When you have an interesting, unique video, many sites will pick it up. You will then get a lot of viral traffic without having to do anything.

The people who watch it will tell their friends or colleagues about it which will increase your page views. Think about how often YouTube videos are shared. The viral effect of videos should not be overlooked.

It is important you have valuable information. A lot of marketers hold back on their free information because they don’t want to reveal their secrets. But people won’t buy your product unless you establish yourself as an expert. To do that, you must give away quality information.

Tell a story. Relating a story is one of the best ways to increase sales. Obviously you want to have good information but you must be able to communicate it in an interesting way to increase your sales.

Incorporating your personal story in the video is a sure way to obtain more sales. For instance, if you are selling an acne product, talk about how the method you teach cleared your skin. People are always more likely to listen to someone who has personal experience with a topic.

The bottom line is you need to have a video that appeals to the search engines by making use of keywords. However, it must also be compelling to human visitors. Remembering both these points is the key to success.
